Student Privacy Commitment

Gridbits LLC (operator of ClubChamp) does NOT collect, store, or use any personal student information or school-associated data directly from students. This platform exclusively handles CTE-related testing and performance data to support your competitive exam preparation. No information from your school records, transcripts, or educational institutions is accessed, requested, or stored by our systems.

Welcome to ClubChamp ("we," "our," or "the Platform"), a service provided by Gridbits LLC. We are committed to protecting the privacy of our users, particularly students preparing for career and technical education competitions. This Privacy Policy explains our data practices, what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

ClubChamp is designed as a test preparation and practice platform for CTE competitions. We operate independently of educational institutions and do not integrate with school systems or student information systems.

Information We Collect

1. Account Information

When an account is provisioned for you, we store only the minimum data required for authentication:

  • CCID (ClubChamp ID): Your unique membership identifier (used for login)
  • Full Name: For account identification and certificate generation
  • Account Role: Student or Advisor designation

Important: We do NOT ask students to submit email addresses, phone numbers, or passwords. Login is handled via secure ID verification. We do NOT collect social security numbers, home addresses, or any other personally identifiable information beyond your name and membership ID.

2. Testing and Performance Data

To provide test preparation services, we collect:

  • Practice Test Results: Scores, answers, time taken, and performance metrics
  • Performance Analytics: Progress tracking by instructional area and difficulty level
  • Achievement Data: Badges earned, points accumulated, and leaderboard rankings
  • Practice Streaks: Consistency tracking for gamification

3. Test Integrity Data (Official Tests Only)

During proctored official tests, we collect limited integrity monitoring data to ensure fair testing conditions:

  • Tab Switch Count: Number of times you navigate away from the test window
  • Focus Loss Events: Instances when the test window loses focus

This data is used only to maintain test integrity and is accessible only to your assigned advisors. We do not use webcams, screen recording, keystroke logging, or any invasive monitoring technologies.

4. Usage Data

We automatically collect minimal technical data for platform operation:

  • Login timestamps and session duration
  • Browser type and device information (for compatibility)
  • Feature usage patterns (anonymized and aggregated)

We do NOT use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics tools that share your data with external parties.

What We Explicitly Do NOT Collect

In compliance with student privacy standards and educational best practices, Gridbits LLC does NOT collect or store:

  • Student email addresses (personal or school-issued)
  • Student records from educational institutions
  • Grade level, GPA, or academic transcripts
  • School names, districts, or institutional affiliations
  • Home addresses or physical locations
  • Phone numbers or emergency contact information
  • Social security numbers or government-issued IDs
  • Financial information (platform is free to use)

  • Information about family members or guardians

How We Use Your Information

We use collected data exclusively for the following purposes:

Generating practice tests, grading submissions, tracking performance, and providing personalized analytics to improve your CTE exam readiness.

2. Account Management

Authenticating users via CCID and maintaining account security without requiring passwords.

3. Platform Improvement

Analyzing aggregated usage patterns to improve question quality, user experience, and platform features. Individual user data is never identified in these analyses.

Who Has Access to Your Data

Developer and Platform Administrator Access

Gridbits LLC developers and administrators have limited access to testing data for the following purposes:

  • Technical Support: Troubleshooting account issues
  • Platform Maintenance: Database management and security monitoring
  • Security Monitoring: Detecting and preventing unauthorized access

Developer Commitment: All Gridbits LLC developers with data access are bound by strict confidentiality agreements and follow data minimization principles.

Advisor Access to Student Data

CTE advisors with platform accounts can access testing data for students under their supervision. Advisor access is intended to support educational guidance and monitor student preparation progress.

Data Sharing and Third Parties

Gridbits LLC does NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

Limited Third-Party Services

We use the following trusted service providers who process data on our behalf under strict contractual obligations:

  • Supabase (Database Hosting): Secure storage of user accounts and testing data
  • Vercel (Platform Hosting): Web application hosting
